Speed Restrictions are being considered for B.C. waters. Vessels less than 15 tons are limited to 10 km/hour (about 6 knots) within 30 meters (about 100') of a shoreline. Adoption is expected by summer . . .

Digital Selective Calling capability will be mandatory in 2003 in Canada, 2005-2006 in the U.S. Keep this in mind if you need a VHF and consult a qualified dealer like Jerry Writer at San Juan Electronics!

Using Channel 13, even for contacting a draw bridge, is forbidden except in an emergency! Use sound signals instead.
