Notice of Race

Rules:
PITCH will be sailed on the waters of Bellingham Bay. The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008, this notice of race and the sailing instructions. The races will be held on September 2 and 3, with warning signals scheduled for 1000 hours. The regatta is classified as a PIYA Category III event. Skippers meeting will be held on Friday, September 1 at 1930 hours.
Eligibility:
Yachts shall be declared eligible which meet PIYA Category III requirements, hold a valid PHRF-NW racing certificate*, or are racing one design, and have paid the US/CAD$ 50 (US/CAD $65 if paid after August 18) entry fee with a completed registration form.
Special entry notes:
- REGISTERED CANADIAN BOAT ENTRY FEE : CAD AT PAR WITH USD.
- Boats that were overall winners of the following regattas during 2006 are invited to register at no charge: South Sound Series, Southern Straits, Swiftsure, Race Week, PSSR, Thrash and Shaw Island. They must however register before August 18.
All yachts are required to register at the Bellingham Yacht Club between 1500 and 2100 on Friday, September 1 even if you have pre-registered. Five or more boats are required for a one design class. Late registration will be available Saturday morning from 0700-0730.
A list of registered boats will be published and updated on this website as registration proceeds. Also as one design classes develop and reach the minimum of 5 boats, these will be published on the website.

Notices
All notices to competitors will be posted on the Regatta Notice Board on the lower floor of the Bellingham Yacht Club. A complete schedule of events and sailing instructions will be given at registration check-in on September 1. Sailing instructions will also be posted on this website no later than Friday 25th August.
Courses:
Courses will be sailed mostly windward/leeward, and possible triangular -- around the buoys racing.
Scoring:
Scoring will be in accordance with Appendix A, the Low Point Scoring System.
Prizes:
Awards will be given to the first three places in each class. A special perpetual award in the memory of the much loved photographer of regattas, Kelly O'Neil - "The Kelly O'Neil Cup" will be awarded to the overall team winner of the regatta. (details to follow)
