Mercedes Benz PITCH Regatta – This annual regatta staged on Labor Day weekend has been held on Bellingham Bay for more than 30 years. Originally title the Pacific International Ton Championships, the event has been through many changes. Recently the event has grown in size and is a Grand Prix qualifier and also a 48 Degrees North Top 25 Boats of Puget Sound qualifier.

Bellingham Bay One Design (BBOD) – This regatta is geared towards dinghy and one design sailors. The event has featured the US Sailing nationals (Smyth Bemis Cup), an A-Cat Fleet, Lasers, Opti’s, Bytes and many others. This is a regional event with many participants from the US and Canada. The event has seen several Olympic champions participating.

Etchells Spring Regatta – This is an annual event which is open to all competitors who are members of the International Etchells Class and a recognized local Etchells fleet. It consists of two days of buoy racing followed by an awards ceremony. The event has drawn Etchells from as far away as California, Canada and Alaska.

Ski to Sea Regatta – This event is scheduled in June this year to allow for more youth sailors to be able to participate. The regatta is for one design dinghy sailors, is open to all ages and is a qualifier with the Northwest Regional Youth Circuit – NWYRC

Pacific Rim Regatta – This event is coordinated every other year with the Bellingham Sister Cities organization. Teams from Nakhoodka Russia, Tateyama-Japan, Port Stephens-Australia, Tauranga-New Zealand, Victoria-Canada, and Bellingham all get together and compete.

Women on the Water (WOW) - This race began with a single rule – that the skipper/driver had to be female and has progressed over the years to mostly all women crews on the boats.  It generally consists of buoy races for boats in both spinnaker and non-flying sails classes.  It is a great confidence builder that has encouraged hundreds of women to participate and includes a fun party and plenty of prizes at the end of the day.
